The ambiance at The Old Library Inn is warm, friendly, and welcoming. We promise all guests a uniquely enjoyable and attentive experience. To that end, we created these policies to help us provide consistent service, to be a good neighbor, and remain a viable business. Please review our policies prior to making your reservations so that we might avoid any surprises at check-in.
Thank you for your cooperation...
A 25% deposit will guarantee your reservation. We accept all major credit cards. Deposits will not be refunded for failure to arrive, arrival after confirmed arrival date, or premature departure.
As a small business, cancellations affect us greatly. When a deposit is made, your room(s) is/are guaranteed for the entire stay, and guests are responsible for the entire balance of nights reserved. Cancellations received more than 14 calendar days prior to your reserved arrival date will be refunded in full, less a $25.00 processing fee per room. For cancellations made less than 14 days in advance, refunds are subject to the re-rental of the accommodations without loss to The Old Library Inn. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover last-minute cancellation expenses.
Sales Balance, Sales Tax (8.0%), Cattaraugus County Occupancy Tax (5.0%) and any additional expenses incurred during your stay will be applied at checkout.
Guests are invited to check-in daily after 3:00 pm. We are unable to accommodate early arrivals, as staff is busy cleaning and preparing guestrooms. Please make your travel plans accordingly. At least 15 minutes prior to your anticipated arrival, please call (716) 373-9804, and our innkeeper will meet you to check you in to your room. If you anticipate a late arrival (after 9:00 pm), please call 24-hours in advance to make special arrangements.
Guests will receive house and guestroom keys when they register at check-in.
Our multi-course breakfast is served daily; seating time is between 7:00 am and 10:00 am daily (Monday through Friday) and 8:00 am and 10:00 am (Saturday and Sunday).
Checkout is before 11:00 am. This is necessary to prepare rooms for incoming guests. No exceptions; please plan accordingly. A $50.00 late checkout fee will apply for checkouts past 11:00 am. Checkouts past noon will be charged for an additional night.
Allergies / Dietary Restrictions
Please alert your innkeeper to all food allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions upon arrival.
The Old Library Inn is environmentally friendly and committed to minimizing its carbon footprint. If you choose to use your bath linens for more than one day, please hang them on the towel rack or door hooks. If you would like fresh linens, please leave used linens on the bathroom floor. Linens are not to be removed from The Old Library Inn. *If linens are missing from your room, you will be charged accordingly.
Please refrain from using our white bath linens to remove makeup or to clean spills, as they stain our linens and make them unsuitable for future guests. Dark colored face cloths are provided in each room for makeup removal and small spills.
Quiet hours are between 10:30 pm and 8:00 am daily. This applies to all common areas: living & dining rooms, kitchen, porch, and grounds. Use of common areas is intended for the enjoyment and comfort of all our guests. Unless you have booked the entire inn, this policy is enforced.
The Old Library Inn seeks to provide a quiet, restful, and romantic environment best suited for adults. However, accommodations are available for well-behaved children. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
Out of courtesy to our guests with allergies, we are unable to accommodate pets. No exceptions.
Smoking is not allowed anywhere inside the inn, although you are welcome to enjoy your smoke on our porch.
No candles, incense, or open flame of any kind is allowed in this circa 1895 wood structure.
The Old Library Inn provides complimentary high-speed wireless internet access throughout the inn. The password is posted in your room for your convenience.
The Old Library is a charming historical structure with older plumbing. Please use guest room waste baskets for all female hygiene products; please flush toilet tissue only.
A refrigerator in the kitchen for perishable food storage is available for guest use. Please label your food and be courteous and thoughtful of your fellow guests. Your cooperation is much appreciated.
Wedding Parties & Family Reunions
Please understand that The Old Library Inn IS NOT a party house or a vacation rental. We are a boutique hotel with a quiet, restful, and romantic environment best suited for adults. Reserving the entire property does not permit you to treat the inn "as you will". We do not tolerate guests moving furniture, inviting an excessive amount of visitors, or any other acts that would typically not be welcomed if you were staying at a "friend's home".
We require our guests to act respectfully toward our property and our innkeepers. Our innkeepers are here to serve you. Please understand that our innkeepers are not "maids" to clean up messes left in our common areas. If you are found to be in violation of these house rules at any time during your stay, you will be asked to leave the property and you will be charged the full amount of your reservation, at no fault of The Old Library Inn.
As a precaution and to protect our investment, all reservations for the entire property (i.e., wedding parties, family reunions) are required to sign “The Old Library Short Term Rental Agreement", including a $500 deposit to cover accidental property damage above and beyond normal wear and tear. This damage deposit is in addition to the 25% room reservation deposit. Credit card information will be kept on hold and not be charged unless damages incur. If this should happen, you will be notified by phone or email. It is not our intent to profit from this policy, only to protect our investment in our small business. If there are damages to the property above and beyond normal wear and tear, the undersigned Inn Event Organizer will be held financially responsible for the balance of the cost of, but not limited to the replacement, repairs, and/or labor of damaged property.
